On Monday, April 18th, Homefield Credit Union welcomed Grafton Girl Scout Troop 64994 to its North Grafton branch, located at 86 Worcester Street. Troop 64994 participated in this afternoon event as they work towards a financial literacy badge.
The girls were given a tour of the credit union branch, where they met a number of employees and learned about the responsibilities of working in a financial institution. VP Doug Lanzillo, AVP Tanya Burke, and Assistant Branch Manager Jocelyn Forgette each took turns discussing the importance of saving money, the difference between savings and checking accounts, various loan products, interest rates, the benefits to having good credit, why it is important to start saving at an early age, and how to set a budget. The differences between a bank and a credit union were also touched upon.
Homefield Credit Union is actively involved in the community, helping to provide financial literacy for people of all ages. If you would like more information, contact a member of the Homefield Credit Union Team at 508-839-5493.
